Find out about a career working with children, young people and their families
2:40pm Saturday 28th September 2013 in Local
WORCESTERSHIRE residents are invited to attend a Choices Information Session in Redditch to help find out more about working with children, young people and their families.
Worcestershire County Council's Early Years and Childcare Service is offering an introduction to the Choices Pathway, to help people decide whether working with children, young people and their families is for them.
This free session will take place on Thursday, October 17, from 10am until 2pm at Redditch Library, Market Place, Redditch and has a particular focus on job roles working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (children up to five years).
The Choices pathway guides people through a sequence of optional stages and signposting, to help them decide on appropriate routes towards achieving their goals for working with children, young people and their families.
Carole Postins, recruitment and retention officer, said: “This is a great opportunity for Worcestershire residents to learn about a possible future career. There are so many benefits to working with children, young people and their families, not least the personal satisfaction of being in a rewarding job.
“People may be surprised at the number of options available and by accessing appropriate advice and guidance, they will be more aware of the career path that will best suit them. The feedback we have received from previous attendees has been positive and many people have gone on to enjoy working or volunteering with children.”
Places can be booked by contacting the recruitment team for Early Years and Childcare on 01905 822658/822660 or by emailing email@example.com. Further information is available at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/earlyyearsrecruitment.
