SINCE quitting her part time job an inspirational Alvechurch women has gone from strength to strength.
Gail Reynolds, 40, a sales leader for Avon, is one of the top earners in the country with a £7 million yearly turnover and aims to inspire women to change their way of thinking.
Former accountant Ms Reynolds, also an author of a number of women in business books, now spends her time travelling around the UK recruiting women to her team.
She gave up her part-time job (working 20 hours a week for four days) when she realized that the one day a week she sold Avon, she earned the same as the other four days number crunching in an office.
She said: “I decided to give up my job because I wanted to be at home with my kids more and I was also spending too much money on childcare – in some weeks I was actually paying out more in childcare costs than what I actually earned.
“I also really wanted to be my own boss and work hours that fitted in around my family commitments.
“I quickly realised that in running my own Avon business, I could achieve great things.”
Her business has taken her all over the world and even enabled her to meet celebrities such as Reese Witherspoon and Will Young.
Now he is encouraging others to follow in her footsteps.
“Whether you are a single parent, a stay-at-home mum, in full-time employment, 18 or 100, Avon is suited anyone,” she said.
“Even men are building big Avon businesses.
“It definitely goes without saying that because the Avon brand is so well recognised and highly regarded worldwide, selling the products is easy, hugely rewarding and fulfilling.”
Ms Reynolds added: “The fact that I wake up every morning knowing I am going to meet someone new and maybe change their lives for the better, is the best feeling in the world.”
