REDDITCH residents and visitors came out in their thousands at the weekend for the annual Morton Stanley Festival.
Approximately 9,500 people turned out for the event which was held on Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19.
International headline acts complemented local talent with the South American sounds of Los Chinches and classy Cambridge folk act Ezio alongside 17 hours of stage performances, including the local Redditch Rock Choir, Kerala Community Association and Stakeout.
A wide array of stalls and activities also took place across the whole weekend including Wilson’s Fair, a variety of food and drink, craft stalls, circusMASH trapeze workshops, and the family fun zone which was run by local community groups.
Councillor Rebecca Blake said: “Yet another excellent Morton Stanley Festival. I was delighted to see so many local people, of all ages, enjoying the talent that Redditch has to offer.
“There were so many highlights, the youngsters performing the circus skills were very impressive, especially after just two weeks of workshops, and the local bands were terrific.
"I want to thank the officers and volunteers who made the festival a success, and everyone who came to support it.”
