Got any unwanted clothing? Do you bit for charity
3:00pm Friday 8th March 2013 in Local
RESIDENTS are being asked to do their bit for charity by donating any unwanted clothing.
From now until April 30 a clothing collection point will be available at the Wilkinson store in the Kingfisher Centre.
Part of The Bags of Support project, organised by Clothes Aid, any donations will help raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Amanda Ashworth, assistant store manager in Redditch, said: “We really hope our loyal customers can help us with this fundraiser, as we believe everyone must have at least one item of clothing they can recycle.
“Whether it’s a coat you don’t wear anymore or something the kids have grown out of, it can all be recycled for Macmillan Cancer Support, rather than ending up in landfill.”
The store is looking for good quality high street clothes, shoes, belts, accessories as well as household linen.
Catriona Munn, from Macmillan Cancer Support, added: “We are very grateful to the Redditch store for once again getting behind our charity.
“Any money raised through this will go a long way to helping people in our local area cope with cancer.”
