GARDENERS and their friends will have a chance to test their knowledge at a celebrity-set gardening quiz at a local garden centre.
Teams of local gardeners, horticultural groups and allotment owners looking for a fun evening out should book their places now for Studley Garden Centre’s celebrity Charity Quiz Night, on Friday, March 8 from 6.30-8pm.
For a £5 donation per head, quizzers can test their knowledge on a wide range of gardening-themed questions specially devised and recorded by celebrities such as Toby Buckland, Pippa Greenwood, Joe Swift, Christine Walkden and Peter Seabrook, whilst enjoying coffee and cake in Studley Garden Centre’s café with the winning team receiving £40 of Studley Garden Centre gift vouchers.
The night will finish with a fun game of ‘Heads and Tails’, with the lucky winner receiving one of the garden centre’s beautiful locally grown orchids.
The quiz forms part of the Henley Road-based garden centre’s special events for Garden Re-Leaf Day – an annual, nationwide initiative designed to get Britain gardening again after the winter months, whilst raising money for national children’s hospice garden charity, Greenfingers.
Other Garden Re-Leaf Day events being held by the centre include ‘Find The Winning Plot’, a Garden Re-Leaf Day raffle and the chance to buy delicious, homemade, hand-decorated Garden Re-Leaf Day cupcakes from the garden centre’s café and food shop on March 8. Profits from all of these activities will go to Garden Re-Leaf Day’s Greenfingers appeal.
