HEREFORD & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) celebrated the achievements of nearly 40 members of staff at a Celebration of Success event held at the Guildhall in Worcester on Thursday, January 24.
Station Commander Neil Pigott acted as master of ceremonies for the evening, while Chief Fire Officer Mark Yates presented each staff member with a framed certificate to recognise their individual achievement.
The chairman of the Fire and Rescue Authority, Councillor Derek Prodger MBE, also attended and assisted the chief fire officer in presenting the awards.
Among the successes were Redditch firefighters Joshua Plumb and Lee Whittington, for completing the trainee firefighter programme, crew commander Robert Birchley for completing the development programme, and firefighters Gary King and Jamie Holloway, who completed their NVQ Level 3.
Chief Fire Officer Mark Yates said: “This Celebration of Success event gives us chance to formally congratulate members of staff on a range of personal and professional achievements.
“Everyone who was presented with a certificate has dedicated a great deal of time and effort to their learning and self-development, often alongside their main role with the service.
“They deserve to be recognised for their commitment and hard work, and I sincerely hope that they enjoyed coming together in this way with their colleagues and their families to celebrate their achievements.”
CFO Yates also thanked Councillor Derek W Prodger MBE, chairman of Hereford & Worcester Fire Authority, for attending the Celebration of Success event, and members of the Young Firefighters Association for helping out during the evening.
