YOUNG people from Winyates, Church Hill and Matchborough can act, dance and sing for a snip at the latest evening clubs in the area.
New classes by local performing arts group Winyates Central are available three evenings a week at local venues Winyates Barn Community Centre and RSA Academy Arrow Vale for just £2 thanks to support from the Redditch Partnership and Redditch Arts Council.
The classes are aimed at people aged six-16 as a way for them to have fun, build confidence, meet people and be active.
Acting is at the community centre on Mondays from 6-7pm. Dancing is at the academy on Tuesdays from 6.30-7.30pm for juniors aged 6-9 years, and from 7.30-8.30pm for seniors aged 10-16. Finally, singing is at the academy on Wednesdays from 5.30-6.30pm.
Redditch Council’s neighbourhood development manager, Liz Williams, said: “The classes are great fun and the kids learn a lot too, and with the funding support from the partnership and arts council they're available for a much-reduced £2 per person. Why not give it a try?”
Redditch Partnership chairman and council leader, Councillor Bill Hartnett, said: “I would encourage youngsters to come along to these sessions and unlock their potential - it's a great opportunity at a great price.”
