SALTWAYS, a Leonard Cheshire Disability home in Webheath, is calling for volunteers to support residents.
Whether someone has half an hour a week or several mornings a month to spare, Saltways is currently looking for volunteers who are seeking a rewarding use of their time, experience and skills.
Daytime, evening and weekend roles include befriending residents and sharing interests such as sport or chess, driving a minibus one afternoon a week, assisting a resident with using the computer and running a group based on the volunteer’s own hobby or knowledge.
Saltways, situated on Church Road, provides a range of activities and support to 24 disabled people, aged 18 to 65.
Kay Restall, volunteer co-ordinator at Saltways, said: “Half an hour a week or one morning a month of someone’s time can really make a difference to a resident’s quality of life. “Anyone who is interested in joining our great team of volunteers is very welcome to come and visit us, to meet residents and find out more. Training and support are provided, and expenses are paid.”
