ARROW Valley East county councillors Juliet Brunner and Gay Hopkins have kept their PACT (Partners and Communities Together) promise to try and make Battens Drive safer for residents.

JThey have worked with the PACT panel to help find solutions to car transporters unloading on the busy Battens Drive in Winyates.

The councillors, in consultation with the Pact panel including police and residents, requested a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).

Now there is a TRO forbidding the unloading of vehicles in Battens Drive and at the junctions of Lowlands and Colts lanes.

Coun Brunner said: “This was a team effort by the Winyates PACT panel who had held numerous meetings and offered solutions to try to end this dangerous nuisance. This shows that PACT works for the community."

An Coun Hopkins added: “People Power through PACT has made our community safer and I’d like to pay tribute to our chairman Dave Jackson who has helped champion this PACT priority.”
