FOLLOWING a frenzy of speed dating in several Worcestershire schools, the Worcestershire Teen Book Award shortlist was announced on Friday, December 14.
Schools in Redditch and Droitwich took part in speed dating sessions in which students reviewed a wide selection of titles to choose their top six favourite reads.
The results were compiled, resulting in a shortlist of six top dates. These will now be read over the spring term to decide which will be the winner of the county's teen book award, with the result to be announced at a quiz and celebration event in the Council Chamber at County Hall on World Book Night in April 2013.
The six on the shortlist are Soldier Dog by Sam Angus; Dead Time by Anne Cassidy; The Haunting of Tabitha Grey by Vanessa Curtis; Girl, Stolen by April Henry; Socks Are Not Enough by Mark Lowery and The Other Life by Suzanne Winnacker.
