THE Greens bar and restaurant, at Pitcheroak Golf Club, is looking for a Redditch charity to support in 2013.

Paul and Liz Kettle took over ownership of The Greens in early 2012.

Following investment from the couple and Redditch Council, the refurbished bar and restaurant opened in June.

The Greens ran a number of fundraising events during 2012. In September, £3,000 was raised for Birmingham CHildren’s Hospital’s cancer unit after Mr and Mrs Kettle organised a sponsored head shave and held a raffle and live music evening.

For 2013, The Greens bar and restaurant would like to support a local charity. The owners plan to hold a variety of fundraising events during the year. Some of the events being considered include regular live music evenings, a summer Scalextric event in conjunction with Phoenix Scalextric based close to Studley and the possibility of a beer festival promoting local micro-breweries.

The owners said: “As local business owners, we think it’s really important to give back to the local community. This is why we want to continue our fundraising activities to date by selecting a local charity to work with.

“We would love to hear from any Redditch charities that are interested in being our nominated charity in 2013 so we can come up with ideas and events together to help them raise vital funds.”

Councillor Luke Stephens, Redditch Council’s portfolio holder for leisure and tourism,  said: “I’d encourage any local charities that need support to get in touch with The Greens to discuss being their nominated charity for 2013.”
