EXCITING times could lie ahead for hungry shoppers in Redditch if plans for a new food court at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre get the go-ahead.

Centre owner Capital & Regional, which bought the centre in May, has submitted ambitious plans to Redditch Council for the development of the former TJ Hughes store.

The area covered by the application is nearly 19,000 sq ft which, if the council approves the application, would be split into four restaurant units.

The application states that the new A3 units would enhance customers’ experience of the existing cinema on the floor above, helping to contribute towards Redditch’s night time economy.
