A FITNESS group based in Redditch celebrated the Christmas season together with a slightly less healthy walk than normal.

More than 60 members of the Arrow Valley Health Walkers came together for a walk to the golden Goose for their Christmas meal.

The club is organised by volunteer health walk leaders who organise walks of differing lengths twice a week, suitable for people of all abilities, covering anything from one and a half miles to a longer five mile route.

The shorter walks run every Monday from 11am, and the longer ones are organised on Thursdays from 11am, both starting from the Arrow Valley Visitor Centre.

Val Wilson, events officer at Redditch Borough Council, said: “We hold a health walk twice a week from Arrow Valley Visitor Centre. As well as providing a gentle introduction to exercise, the health walks are designed to give people the confidence to take up other walking opportunities and promote a generally healthier lifestyle.”
