A MAN has been taken to hospital with a head injury after the motorcycle he was riding was in collision with a lorry in Wythall on Tuesday, November 27.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Hill Lane shortly before 6.30pm. An emergency doctor, a crew and a senior paramedic officer attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived to find a man in his 20s who had come off his motorcycle after reportedly being in collision with a lorry.
“An off duty junior doctor had stopped to help and was with the man when crews arrived.
“After a full assessment, the man was found to have suffered a head injury and a suspected fractured collar bone. The emergency doctor and crews administered pain relief and oxygen to the man to stabilise his condition and make him more comfortable.
“They then worked as a team to carefully immobilise him with a neck collar and spinal board before he was taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
