THE atrocious weather could not stop hundreds of Redditch families lining the streets for the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights on Saturday.
As well as the official switch on, carried out by stars of this year’s Palace Theatre panto, Sleeping Beauty, there was a host of other festive entertainment for children to enjoy, including face painting and a visit from Father Christmas and his helpers.
There was also music from local band Stakeout and Glamba to get people in the festive spirit.
