FOLLOWING a huge Lottery Grant a youth organisation in Redditch is going from strength to strength.

Your Ideas Youth and Community Project, based in the Matchborough Centre, was recently awarded a grant of £189, 898.

The money will go toward helping young people and adults who have Asperger’s syndrome by running weekly friendship clubs and volunteering opportunities.

Club organiser Pauline Marshall said: “I am absolutely overjoyed that we were successful with the bid and it means an awful lot to those we serve.

“The club is going from strength to strength and we now run over seven different types of activities for young people in the area.”

As well as running the Asperger’s syndrome scheme the youth organisation allows all members of the community to identify projects or initiatives that will improve the quality of life for the community as a whole.

Redditch MP Karen Lumley, who recently visited, said: “I was delighted to hear that they have been successfully awarded a significant lottery grant.”

She added: “It was great to see this fantastic local club in action.

“Staff work incredibly hard to ensure that a wide array of services are on offer to help support young people.”
