Youngsters take to the streets for Redditch Youth House

YOUNGSTERS from Redditch Youth House are stepping out to raise money for youth facilities in the town with a sponsored fancy dress walk.

The young people will be starting out from the youth house at 11.30am on Thursday, November 1 and making their way through the Redditch town centre and on to Arrow Valley Lake, collecting change from people as they go.

The walk is to raise awareness for the campaign to buy Redditch Youth House, which has been earmarked for closure by Worcestershire County Council.

£150,000 is needed to buy the youth centre from the council, and the Redditch Youth and Community Enterprise, is attempting to raise £1,400 needed to register as a BenCom (community benefit society), so that it can apply for grants for the money.

This walk has been organised by the youngsters that use the facilities, as a way of doing their bit towards the cause.
