MORE than 800 people attended a recent open day at NEW College, including a special guest visitor.

BBC Midlands Today presenter Joanne Malin turned up for the event, which included a tour of both campuses (Redditch and Bromsgrove) and examples of what the college has to offer.

Facilities at Redditch include a newly refurbished sixth form centre and a simulation of an airplane cabin, while Bromsgrove has the Harley Davidson University, state-of-the-art games design suites, and broadcast-ready TV and music studio.

Joanne Malin, who got to see the studio, said: “The tour has been really interesting, it’s a great opportunity to see the fantastic variety of facilities on offer here at the college.”

Principal John Callaghan added: “Having the opportunity to showcase the excellent facilities and the enthusiasm of staff for the subjects they are passionate about teaching is what we really wanted to highlight.

“I want everyone to feel as proud to be a part of NEW College as I do.”
