STUDENTS in years nine and 10 at Kingsley College recently had a special presentation from a truly inspirational man called Steve Cunningham.

Mr Cunningham is an internationally renowned motivational speaker who is in high demand.

He has worked with some famous teams including England’s rugby team, England’s cricket team and Bolton Wanderers FC.

He captained the England Blind Football team, become a member of the England blind cricket 11, plays to a golfing handicap of 24, and also broke the 100m world junior blind sprint title.

Mr Cunningham always wanted to drive fast cars, so much so, that he broke the world blind land speed record and has set onshore and offshore powerboat records.

He also took his record breaking to the air and found fame as the world’s first blind pilot.

A school spokesman said: “Kingsley students were amazed by his inspirational presentation and some were lucky to be able to work with him in smaller groups on activities designed to inspire them for the future and in doing well in school.

“On behalf of staff and students we would like to thank Steve, and his guide dog Foster who made many new friends, for his time at Kingsley and would welcome them both back any time.”
