DEMAND for British innovation has helped a Bromsgrove-based provider of customised procedural solutions to win a prestigious award.
Kimal PLC has won an award for export at the highly competitive West Midlands Medical and Healthcare Business Awards 2010.
Organised by medical technology industry specialist MedilinkWM, the awards shine the spotlight on the success of companies within the Medical Technologies Cluster.
Kimal will now go on to represent the region on the national stage at the Medilink UK Awards in March.
Specialising in products for diagnostic and interventional cardiology, radiology, renal disease and oncology, Kimal has increased its export sales by more than 25 per cent, achieving outstanding success and gaining certifications in China, Brazil, Venezuela, Columbia, Hong Kong, Canada and Germany.
Kimal’s corporate marketing manager, Ken Findlay, said: "As market leaders in more than 12 countries, we have been very successful in opening up new global opportunities through distributors, joint ventures and direct sales.
"This award is recognition of the investment we’ve made in gaining certifications for seven new markets, as well as growing our sales in existing markets by 88 per cent."
He added: "While international growth is not developed overnight, we’re confident that our work this year will continue to reap rewards into 2011."
Kimal will be formally presented their award by Terri D’Elia, the Arab Health show director, at Arab Health in Dubai on Tuesday, 26 January.
