CONSTRUCTION materials distributor Blackheath Products is aiming to boost the coffers at Birmingham Children’s Hospital with a festive fundraising day at its Halesowen HQ.

The business has chosen Christmas Jumper Day – Friday, December 15 – for a special event, which will see it waive its trade-only restrictions for one day only.

It will discount clearance stock and welcome residents to its Fairfield Park base to give them the chance to snap up tools and kitchen product clearance offers.

Megan Murphy, of Blackheath Products, said: “We’ll be reducing a selection of products for the event – from work surfaces, kitchen supplies and power tools, so it’s a great opportunity for local people to buy some practical presents, stock up on supplies for next year’s DIY projects and help support the hospital.

“We’re hoping everyone will don their Christmas jumpers to enter into the spirit of the occasion and make donations to the cause while they bag their bargains.”

The business has already raised £2,312 this year for the charity through events, with a major contributor being a 176-mile bike-ride from Grob-Umstadt to Bamberg.

Megan added: “With the end of the year fast approaching we’re keen to make space in the stockroom for brand new items, so we’re hoping that the chance to bag a few bargains at trade prices will appeal to people’s generous spirit and help us raise more much-needed funds for the brilliant BCH team.

“We may even have a prize for the wearer of the best Christmas jumper – and having seen some of the offerings the Blackheath team are planning to wear, there will be some stiff competition.”

The showroom will be open from 7.30am until 2pm on December 15 and is open to everyone.
