THE best Black Country businesses will be celebrated at a glitzy awards evening later this month.

Black Country Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Business is Good for the Black Country Awards Dinner on Thursday November 20 at Wolverhampton Racecourse.

Ninder Johal, chamber president, said: “I urge businesses to attend our awards dinner: not only will it provide an opportunity to celebrate the best of the Black Country, it will give us all a first-hand opportunity to contribute to the future debate on devolved powers to the area.

“Having our hands on the tiller can only lead to a resurgence of the industrial heart of the UK.”

The guest speaker will be Colin Lambert, former Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council leader who took the authority from the fourth worst in the country to the most improved.

To book a place at the awards dinner call the chamber on 0845 002 1234 or email awards@blackcountrychamber.co.uk.
