Food festival is supporting Alcester in Bloom
11:28am Wednesday 29th February 2012 in Alcester
THE organisers of the Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festival have pledged a donation to the Alcester in Bloom committee in response to a recent appeal for donations.
Festival committee secretary, Dianne Williams, said: “Alcester in Bloom has continued to make the town more attractive each year. Visitors to the town and local residents love the floral displays and hanging baskets. They have become an annual feature. Alcester Food Festival has decided that, following this year’s event, a donation will be made to Alcester in Bloom.
“Both organisations are run by local volunteers who do not get paid for all their hard work and both the food festival and Alcester in Bloom benefit the town by encouraging visitors and improving the footfall of the town for residents and local businesses. Both groups are non-profit making and do need support to continue.”
In previous years the food festival has donated money to Alcester’s 17th century town hall, and the committee will be considering other local organisations this year as recipients of donations.
Stalls are still available for the Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festival. To book a stall or space, contact sales organiser, Patricia Hill, on 07807 312421 or visit the website www.alcesterfoodfestival.org.uk.
