RESIDENTS are being warned to be on their guard against unexpected telephone calls from someone falsely claiming to be a police community support officer.
Warwickshire County Council Trading Standards officers have received information that the caller claims to be a police community support officer and asks for a £150 donation towards the cost of running a youth event.
When challenged, the caller hangs up.
Trading Standards are particularly concerned as it is farmers who have been targeted in this way and all members of the farming community are asked to be extra vigilant.
For advice on dealing with unexpected callers or to reduce the number of unwanted telephone calls received ring 0845 070 0707.
