AFTER nearly two years of waiting Bidford has at last got its youth shelter site.
Bidford Youth Action Group formally opened the site, adjacent to the fire station, with a merry “Oyez” from the village crier, as the ribbon was cut.
Community groups, the parish council, police, firefighters, local churches, and district councillors were all responsible for turning plans into reality and were also present to mark the occasion.
The site features a shelter and a Devil’s Island swing, which have already proved popular with children from Bidford School.
With the project now successfully completed, Bidford Youth Action Group is starting work on its next objective – raising funds to rebuild the youth club, creating a modern, fit for purpose building with 21st century facilities.
