STRATFORD and Alcester Round Table raked in a record-breaking £6,259 with their annual sleigh tours.

The annual event sees Father Christmas spread festive cheer in Alcester, Bidford, Meon Vale, Lower Quinton Studley and Stratford for 14 nights in December.

Posting on Facebook, a Stratford and Alcester Round Table spokesman said: "Thank you to everyone for your support and donations.

"We couldn't have managed without our wonderful volunteers. A huge thanks also to our chief elf and Round Table and Ladies Circle members without whom Santa wouldn't have been able to rock around Alcester, Stratford, Bidford, Meon Vale/Lower Quinton and Studley."

They also thanked Listers Honda Stratford who generously lent Santa a car, decorated with reindeer graphics, to tow Santa's sleigh.

All the money raised will be donated to charities and groups at a presentation evening next month.

To make a further donation, text ASRT01 and the amount you want to give to 70070.
