GENEROUS Alcester residents are being urged dig deep for this year's Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

An official launch, with stalls selling goodies, will be held outside Alcester Methodist Church at 11am until 1pm on Saturday, October 29.

Entrance is £1 and includes refreshments. All profits go to the Poppy Appeal fund.

Legion members, veterans and the public are invited to the annual Armistice Day Parade and church service, taking place on Friday, November 11.

Those taking part in the parade should meet outside Guys Menswear at 10.35am ready to march to the church for the 11am service.

There will be a national two minute silence at 11am.

On Saturday, November 12, residents are invited to attend the legion's poppy concert at the Greig Centre sports hall.

There will be performances from the Alcester Male Voice Choir, Alcester Victoria Silver Band and other soloists. The concert will start at 7pm.

Tickets are £10 and all profits from the concert go to Alcester Poppy Appeal fund.

On Sunday, November 13, veterans, serving members of the Armed Forces, legion members, organisations and the public are invited to take part in the parade and the church services. Those marching should meet in Bleachfield Street at 10.35am ready to march to St Nicholas Church for the outdoor service, wreath laying and indoor service.

Afterwards the parade will march to the town hall.
