SCALEXTRIC fans are being invited to three events in aid of St Nicholas’ Church.
A 21-meter track will be constructed inside the church, in Butter Street, offering fans of the electric car racing game the chance to compete for a selection of prizes.
There will be sessions running on Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29, 10am till noon, 1 to 3pm and 5 to 7pm and on St Nicholas' Night on December 6 between 4 and 7pm.
An urgent appeal to restore St Nicholas’ Church was launched after an architect found stonework on all four external walls and its tower were in need of restoration, costing at least £200,000.
Places for adults cost £5,children £2.50, a family ticket (two adults and two children) is £11.
