TWO highly praised singer-songwriters will take centre stage at Jack Blackman's 'Tuery Sessions' event at the Cross Keys in Alcester next weekend.

Americana folk band Boss Caine, from York, fronted by singer-songwriter Daniel Lucas, will perform a range of powerful songs described as doused in whisky, soul and emotion that 'make Louis Armstrong's sound kinda girly'.

Also performing will be Coventry guitarist Kristy Gallacher, who formed her own independent record label Broken Player Records in 2008 at the age of 21. She signed herself and has been self sufficient ever since.

She has been described as playing like Bert Jansch and likened to KT Tunstall.

The free event on Sunday, October 23, starts at 6pm and will feature a raffle and jam session.
