DISABLED and disadvantaged children and young people in Wootton Wawen are set to benefit from a discounted horse riding sessions in the village.

Equine Learning in partnership with The Centaurus Trust have launched their Inspiring Riders project, offering lower cost horsemanship and Pony Club sessions to people within a 15 mile radius of the village.

The riding facilities at the Wootton Park site on Alcester Road include a new outdoor arena and a covered round pen, which were funded with an Inspired Facilities grant from Sport England and this grant also helped start the project.

A Equine Learning spokesman said: "Our vision for this project is to make horsemanship more accessible and affordable to children and young people in the local area."

Inspiring Riders sessions are priced at £10 for 45mins and £15 for an hour.

All participants will also have the opportunity to join the Pony Club and gain badges and riding awards.

Additionally, the partnership are launching our Stable Mates Pony Club on Saturday mornings from 10am to 12:30pm at a cost of £25 per person. The sessions are open to all children and young people locally.
