A FORMER Alcester Grammar School student has received a royal seal of approval from Her Majesty The Queen.

Jamie Turner's business PCA Predict, formerly Postcode Anywhere, was selected for the Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation 2016, and the Lord Lieutenant of Worcester Patrick Holcroft LVO OBE recently visited the Worcester-based business to bestow the honour.

The award was presented to PCA Predict for its revolutionary address validation, offering a solution to traditional postcode look-up which has been adopted by businesses worldwide.

Mr Turner co-founded the company in 2001 with business partner and president Guy Mucklow.

He puts the achievement down to the collective achievement for everyone in the business.

Mr Turner had the honour of meeting the Queen back in July where she asked him about PCA Predict’s award-winning innovation.

He said: "She seemed genuinely interested when I explained what we did which was very gratifying.

"The time we spent at Buckingham Palace was quite surreal as we chatted to Princess Eugenie and the Duchess of Kent fairly informally and they were really charming."

His mother Judy, who lives in Alcester, was invited to the PCA Predict celebrations as a special guest.

She said she is "really proud" of her son’s achievements and was "thrilled" to meet the Lord-Lieutenant.

PCA Predict was founded as a ‘privately funded’ two-man start-up to the multi-million turnover company it is today.

It now employs more than 60 people and has a New York office with plans to acquire other offices in key locations around the world.
