FINE wine and local produce will be on the menu when Alcester's popular winter food festival returns to the town later this month.

Thousands of foodies are expected to flock to the free town centre event, which will host a record number of stalls - more than 130- on Saturday, October 15.

Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festival will feature a variety of award-winning produce including cheese, bread, pies, herbs, sauces, oils and marinades as well as sausages, fresh and cured meats, cakes, chocolates and puddings.

There will also be a range of beers, ciders, wines and spirits as well as street food, including vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Alcester Court Leet will also be conducting their traditional assizes, ensuring that the produce offered for sale is of sufficient quality for the residents of Alcester and visitors alike.

People will be able to enter a free prize draw by visiting the information stand run by the organisers near St Nicholas' church.

Alcester and Forest of Arden Food Festival Ltd is a registered community benefit society, run totally by volunteers.

All profits are ploughed back into the festival, the town infrastructure and also used to support the many voluntary organisations who help out on the day.

The event will run from 9am to 5pm. A free park and ride scheme will be in operation from Adams Way, Arden Forest Industrial Estate.
