RESPECTS will be paid to much-loved former Alcester mayor Wendy Weatherhead during a funeral service later this month.
Wendy Weatherhead, aged 80, who was honorary president of Alcester Town Football Club, former captain of the Girl Guides, a town councillor, a keen supporter of Alcester in Bloom and an active member of the Baptist church, died on Friday, August 26 at Warwick Hospital.
A service will be held at 11.30am in north chapel at Oakley Wood Crematorium near Lemington Spa on Thursday, September 22 followed by a ceremony at Alcester Baptist Church from 1pm.
Mrs Weatherhead leaves behind husband Bob, and sons Anthony, Neil and Michael.
As a mark of respect, Alcester Town Football Club held a two minute silence before kick-off on Saturday, August 27.
