A NEW 150 home development has been given the green light in Bidford-on-Avon.

Bovis Homes applied to build 150 properties off Salford Road and was given the go ahead by Stratford District Council in early August.

The homes will include two-bedroom bungalows, starter homes, five-bedroom houses and 52 properties will be designated as affordable housing for local people.

As part of the plans, Bovis Homes will deliver infrastructure work including contributions towards education, library, public transport, travel initiatives.

There will also be a new play area and open green spaces.

David Laight, associate design and planning director at Bovis Homes said: "We are delighted to have received consent and will be working closely with the local community to deliver these much-needed new homes.

"The development will deliver major economic benefits to the area, creating jobs and helping to boost the local property market.

"This is also an exciting opportunity for home buyers in the area," he added.

Building work is due to start in the autumn.
