STAFF at an Alcester-based business are celebrating after scooping five awards at the 2016 International Beer Challenge.

Aptly named Pure Gold won the 'British Style Golden Ale category', whilst Purity’s 10th anniversary beer, X, took gold as 'Best Wood Aged Beer'.

Longhorn India pale ale, Saddle Black and Mad Goose also received medals in their respective categories of 'New World Style (IPA)', 'Black (IPA)' and 'British Style Pale Ale'.

Paul Halsey, managing director of Purity Brewing Company, said:"To win an International Beer Challenge award is one of the highest honours we brewers can hope for, so to win five at this year’s competition is a phenomenal achievement.

"At Purity, we strive to brew responsibly whilst never compromising on quality, so this recognition is testament to the entire team. I know our fans will enjoy this immensely as well as they are just as much a part of the Purity family."

For 20 years, the International Beer Challenge has rewarded and promoted excellent beers from around the globe, with entries received from up to 30 countries.
