FIREFIGHTERS had to cut a man free from a car after a two vehicle crash on the B439 near Bidford this morning.

Crews from Alcester and Bidford, police, two ambulances and a rapid response community paramedic attended the scene at about 6.30am on Friday, June 8.

A Vauxhall Vectra and a Seat Leon were involved in a head-on crash near the Temple Grafton turn-off.

A spokesman from West Midlands Ambulance Service said a man in his 20s, suffering from a back injury, arm fracture and cuts to his face, had to be cut from a car as a result of the damage from the crash.

Once the roof and door had been cut away from the car, a specialist extrication device was used to free him.

He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment, along with a driver of one of the cars, a woman in her 30s, who suffered back and abdominal pain and another woman who had minor injuries.

Following the smash, the road was closed until about 9.30am.
