HUNDREDS of people flocked to Alcester at the weekend for the Summer Folk Festival.

The three day event, which took place mainly the Holly Bush pub and Alcester Town Hall, featured a number of unique performances from talented artists.

A variety of acts took to the stages throughout the town including Sharp as Razors, John Connolly, Em-Braces, and Paul Downes.

The weekend also offered storytelling, workshops, and the opportunity to get involved with various folk groups.

Organiser Marje Stanley said: "It went really well, people were so pleased and just said what a wonderful festival it is and that they would come again.

"Some morris dancers came along to the event, they invited people to have a go themselves, and the artists made up backing music so that they could dance to it.

"It was really well attended," she added.
