A SUPER slimming Tesco worker who shed more than 80 pounds has been named Alcester's Slimming World Man of the Year 2016.

Thomas Dudley joined the club in October last year and has since lost 5 stone 11 pounds - an average of 2.5 pounds per week.

The 29-year-old starting attending the Slimming World meetings after a work colleague recommended it, and Thomas was pleased by the support provided and the eating plan.

Thomas said: "Deep down I’d been unhappy with my weight for some time, but it took me a long time to face up to it and then, when I did admit to myself, that I wanted to lose weight I still didn’t want to ask for help.

"I’ve realised now that asking for help takes strength and getting support to make changes has given me a sense of confidence that is benefitting every aspect of my life including starting to learn to drive.

"Slimming World helped me to break it down into chunks and by starting small I’ve managed to build up my activity gradually. I have recently gained enough confidence to start going to the gym which I would never of done before.

"I can honestly say I feel like a different man since losing weight and I'm confident that with Slimming World I will achieve my target weight in the near future."

Alcester Slimming World group leader Becky Barber said: "He has done brilliantly and we’re all amazed by his transformation. He’s a real inspiration to the group.

"We know that many men assume slimming clubs won’t be right for them, but Thomas shows that once they come through the doors they do brilliantly.

"Like Thomas, I would advise anyone who would like to lose weight to find the courage to take that first step."
