VISITORS to the Ragley Estate are being invited to join new head gardener Mark Morrell for a walk in the footsteps of English landscape architect Lancelot 'Capability' Brown.

Ragley Hall, Park and Gardens, which boasts 400 acres of Capability Brown parkland, is celebrating the architect's 300th birthday by holding a series of tours around the estate.

Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, who designed over 170 parks, was at the forefront of a new style of garden and landscape design for Britain's country houses during the 18th Century.

The tour will feature picturesque views of the house from the parkland and towards the walled garden. See the amazing barrier constructed by hand to create the lake and learn of how the original formal plans for the park were changed to suit the changing fashions of the time.

Walking time is approximately 60 minutes. Appropriate footwear and pre-booking is essential.

Tours costing £12 are available at 1pm on June 24 and 25, August 19 and 20, and September 16 and 17.
