A MAN's wallet was stolen by pickpockets as he left Waitrose supermarket car park in Alcester.

The victim, a man in his 60s, had been shopping in the supermarket before was approached by two men asking for directions to Nottingham.

They stood in close proximity to the victim showing him a map inside an A4 book before leaving in the direction of the High Street.

On returning home the victim realised that his brown leather fold over wallet, containing several cards was missing.

The incident took place at around 1pm on Saturday, May 28 in Waitrose supermarket car park on Moorfield Road.

One suspect is described as late 30s, clean shaven, of slight build and approximately 5 foot 6 tall, believed to be of eastern European or Asian appearance with short black hair and was wearing a dark blue 'Harrington' style jacket with long sleeves and dark coloured trousers.

The other is described as between 5 foot 6 to 5 foot 7 tall, heavily built and about 50 years-old with grey and white hair. He was wearing a white long sleeved shirt with the sleeves rolled up and dark trousers.

Previously, the victim saw the first suspect pushing an empty trolley and blocking the entrance of the Waitrose store.

Anyone with information is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 220 of May 28.
