A YOUNG fishmonger from Dunnington, Alcester, is helping to launch world famous Bunbury Cricket Club’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

Harry Dyke, aged 20, a fourth generation fishmonger at Hillers Fish Shop, is a member of the prestigious club, which has raised more than £17 million for charity.

Mr Dyke, who works at Hillers Farm Shop, was asked to be a member of the club by its founder, former Bee Gees manager Dr David English CBE after the fishmonger raised more than £10,000 for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research through a celebrity charity cricket game at Ragley Hall.

Recently, Mr Dyke with help from his good friend and fellow Bunbury player Chris Whelan, set up a brand new website to help promote the cricket charity and its anniversary celebrations.

Mr Whelan, a former Worcestershire cricket player, said: “I wish the Bunburys all the best on their anniversary year.

“I have known David for years, it’s remarkable what he has done for charity, and this website helps celebrate his achievements and the remarkable history of the club itself.”

As part of the anniversary festivities a gala dinner, headlined by Bill Wyman, is set to take place at Grosvenor House in London.
