AN Alcester primary school has been praised by the Department of Education.
Nick Gibb MP, the Minister of State for Schools, wrote to Our Lady's Catholic Primary School, in St Faith's Road, to congratulate their "continuing improved performance" in national key stage two tests.
Head of school Teresa Unitt said: "We are very proud of this as it acknowledges the hard work, professionalism and enthusiasm of all staff to reach the highest standards possible for each and every one of our pupils.
"We are a small, happy school where we nurture our pupils so that they gain confidence and develop a real love for learning which is enhanced by the high expectations of staff and support of parents."
In the letter, Mr Gibb said: "Thank you for your work in continuing to drive towards high standards of educational achievement, and congratulations to you and your staff for your hard work and professionalism."
Additionally, the school results show they are amongst the 100 top performing schools based on sustained improvement in attainment at level four or above in reading, writing and mathematics each year from 2012 to 2015.
