A NEW monthly live music night, featuring special and talented guests, is coming to Alcester.

The monthly night, set up by local musician Jack Blackman, will be held at the Cross Keys in Stratford Road.

The new night has been named The Tuery Sessions, as a ‘tuery’ is an old Alcester word for alley or pathway.

"Let it (the night) be your guide along the righteous path to great music, good times and rock and roll," explained Jack.

The debut show takes place on Sunday, January 24, starts at 6pm and is free.

Speaking on the new event, Jack added: "It has been a long time coming for Alcester, a regular music night- I am really looking forward to it."

Young Americana hotshots Aidan and the Wildfires, winners of the 2015 Purbeck Valley Folk Festival folk rising competition, are guaranteed to get people moving with their live show, having honed it to deadly perfection with their residency at the legendary Troubadour club in London.

Wes Finch, who recently supported artists Billy Bragg and Martin Carthy, will serenade audiences with his original songs, an intoxicating mix of folk, rock, blues, country, jazz and swing.

The evening will finish with a jam, hosted by Jack and featuring all of the acts alongside some mystery guests.
