A TEAM of students from Alcester Grammar School will represent Warwickshire in the central regional final of a national debating contest after triumphing over three other schools in the region.
Alcester Grammar School, in Birmingham Road, recently hosted the Warwickshire qualifying round of Debating Matters.
The school triumphed over King Edward VI Five Ways School, following a final debate on HS2.
The schools also discussed diverse issues such as compulsory childhood vaccinations and religious freedom.
During the debates students were grilled by a group of expert judges and professionals from across Warwickshire that were impressed students' contributions on difficult subjects.
Nancy Hall, from Stratford Girls’ Grammar School, particularly impressed the judges with her sharp contributions from the floor and was named ‘Best Individual’.
