IN a galaxy not so far away – Alcester High Street – a unique themed shop is gearing up for the greatly anticipated release of the new movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Sci-fi enthusiasts of all ages and from miles around are expect to descend on Star Wars-themed shop Admit One, which houses a wall of collectables from the film series.

Stormtroopers from the Galactic Empire have been seen in the shop, located at 27 High Street, and around the town, at the weekend.

Store buyer Kirsty Scott, a self-confessed Star Wars geek, said: “It was quite amazing to see the kids’ faces,” said.

“It seemed to have caused a bit of a stir.” Ms Scott, who runs the shop together with its owner Gail Beck, added: “I remember the movies when they first came out, it has been an ongoing thing for me.”

“It started as a project, we wanted to do something different.”

The store was opened in May this year and was originally planned as a movie-themed shop until the epic space movie-series took over, due to customer demand.

The movies are played continually in the shop, so customers can enjoy their favourite moments from the soon-to-be seven episodes.

The couple, from Redditch, attended a special premier of the new movie today, just after midnight. Will the force be with you or will you be going to the dark side?

To see it for yourself visit the Vue Cinema, in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, Redditch, from tomorrow.
The shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm and Sunday 1.30 to 7.30pm.
