A PUBLIC inquiry over the development of up to 75 homes in Bidford is being held next week.

Following an appeal by Persimmon Homes (South Midlands) against the refusal of planning permission for the development at Marriage Hill Nurseries and 45 Salford Road an inquiry, expected to last up to six days, is being carried out.

The appeal relates to proposals for outline planning permission for the homes with associated open space, landscaping, parking provision and infrastructure following the demolition of an existing dwelling at number 45 Salford Road and existing nursery buildings at Marriage Hill Nurseries.

Stratford-on-Avon District Council refused the planning application on several grounds including the unsustainable location, landscape harm, highway safety, lack of infrastructure, loss of employment site and harm to the local economy and the insufficient information relating to noise and potential land contamination.

A Government Planning Inspector will chair the inquiry, held at The Falcon Hotel, Chapel Street, Stratford-upon-Avon, CV37 6HA from 10am on Wednesday, December 9.

The public can attend the inquiry and express their view – at the discretion of the inspector.
