TRIBUTES have been paid to a young Redditch woman who died from multiple serious injuries after the scooter she was riding collided with a car.

Emma Flatley, 21, was driving her Herald moped on the A46 near Alcester when it collided with a Vauxhall Zafira at about 4.50pm on Wednesday, October 28.

Her family have paid tribute to the youth leader and teaching assistant who worked with students with learning difficulties.

The statement from the family read: "Emma was a warm, vibrant, fun loving young woman.

"She was passionate and caring, and like a ray of sunshine lit up everywhere she went.

"She was on her way to the job she loved when she lost her life. She was much loved by family, friends and the local communities which she served.

"She will be sorely missed."

A rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find a car and a scooter that had been in a serious collision.

“The woman riding the scooter had suffered multiple serious injuries and was in traumatic cardiac arrest.

“Resuscitation attempts were carried out at the scene by medics including advanced life support techniques.

“Unfortunately, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save the woman and sadly she was confirmed dead at the scene.
