A TWO-minute silence was observed at Alcester Fire Station to remember four firefighters who lost their lives inside a blazing Atherstone warehouse eight years ago.

To mark the occasion, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue Service firefighters lowered their flags to half-mast and paused at 7.28pm to reflect on the tragic event.

Darren Yates-Badley, 24,and Ashley Stephens, 21, from Alcester died after attending a fire at a vegetable packing plant warehouse in Atherstone-on-Stour on November 2, 2007.
