RESIDENTS in Bidford-on-Avon are being offered the chance to have a say in how their village develops.

Bidford-on-Avon Parish Council has published its pre-submission draft neighbourhood development plan for a six-week public consultation.

Residents will have from now until 5pm on Friday, November 6 to make representations to the council.

Neighbourhood planning is part of the Government's Localism Act.

It gives greater powers to councils and neighbourhoods by allowing local people new rights to shape the development of the communities and take a more active role in the development of planning policy locally.

Responses can be sent to Bidford-on-Avon Parish Council, c/o Post Office, High Street, B50 4AW, or hand deliver to the Parish Council Office, Bramley Way, Bidford-on-Avon B50 4QG.

A copy of the Pre-submission Draft Plan and supporting documentation are available at bidfordonavon-pc.gov.uk.

Following the end of the consultation, comments will be assessed by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group who will decide if changes need to be made prior to submitting the draft to the District Council for consultation and on to independent examination.
