AN Alcester business is sponsoring a new race being held in the town later in the year.

Seco Tools, a manufacturer and supplier cutting tools and equipment, is supporting the SECO Alcester 10km.

Richard Jelfs, Seco Tools UK managing director, said: “Having been located in Alcester ever since the company was first established in 1964, we take our corporate social responsibilities seriously, and our staff can always be counted upon to help the vulnerable and the disadvantaged, and to lend their support to worthy cause.

“I am confident that Seco staff will make a significant contribution to the event’s success and raise much needed funds for a number of local, regional and national charities as a consequence.”

The event is taking place on Sunday, October 11 at 10am and has been arranged by Raceways in partnership with Alcester Community Trust.

The race starts in Alcester High Street before making its way out of Alcester towards Oversley Green then continues onto the village of Walcote.

The route then turns left and the road follows the River Alne into Great Alne. On exiting Great Alne the course follows the road back to Alcester.

There will be chip timing, medals and goody bags for each competitor.

Entry costs £20 per person. For more information visit www.raceways.eu.
